An antibiotic called Zymaxid Ophthalmic Solution is used to treat bacterial eye infections. By halting the growth of the causing germs, it reduces the symptoms of the infection.
Zymaxid Ophthalmic Solution should only be used externally. As directed by your physician, take it for the prescribed amount of time. Without touching the eye, bring the dropper up close to it. Squeeze the dropper gently, then insert the medication into the lower eyelid. Eliminate surplus fluids. Even if you feel better, avoid missing any doses and complete the entire course of treatment.
Burning sensations in the eyes may occur right after application. These adverse effects, however, are transient and often go away on their own. Let your physician know if they continue for a longer duration
